i am the turtle network, aka Ciel.
I know you thought of it before, a place FILLED with wonders.
No, i cant tell you where narnia is, or i would be fed to aslan.
Here are the rules and tips, in no real order.(note these rules are only to be followed as rules if you are making a fantasy world for a book idea, other wise, they are guidelines.
1) think about the fantasy place's look, and qualities. remember that the qualities must suit the inhabitants of the place, after all you can not have vampiric beings in a place where the sun always shines, with a huge smile on it'a face.
2) not all creatures living here do not have to be civil. For example, in my story, herelade (the link is http://harou-in.deviantart.com/#/d31ewgb ) the "civilians" are the idiots, and animals are super-intelligent, anthromorphic beings that are smart enough to alter their own structure, and live eternally. Ok, that was obvious, but what i mean is, they do not have to live in houses, or wear clothes, or have a democracy.
3) when designing the creatures, do not make them perfect. For example, in herelade (yes, again.) the characters are not completely perfect... Their "jobs" involve keeping the civillians from starvation, or anything like that, plus, each species has their own flaws, personallity and body wise. (like the foxes are self centered, and very "horny")
4)do not mention Famous places, like the pyramids, if your fantasy world is not on earth, especially when it is set in the 17th century or something.
Avoid cliches, like volcanos near the town, and the city is under enemy control, it will dim down the story.
try something like, the people became too prosperous, and the mayors daughter commited suicide, then the mayor burns it out of vengence, and the tribe ends up chasing the mayor, along with his friends, (if any) named (x) and (y).
